Making Disciples in Our Homes

Ephesians 6.4 tells parents to bring their children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. That is a weighty task, and it means that one of our first realms of making disciples is in our own homes. It means the primary job of teaching kids to love and follow Jesus belongs to their parents.

What is Parent/Child Commitment?

Parent/Child Commitment is a day for us to recognize our kids and their parents and for the parents to express their desire to teach their kids what it means to love and follow Jesus.

It is also an important day for our entire church family to commit to pray for each other, support each other, and do whatever is in our power to help disciple our kids together.

The way we do this is a short moment for each family to introduce themselves and their child in our worship gathering, followed by a prayer time for our parents, our kids, and our entire church body. You won’t have to say or do much up front, and it is an encouraging time for our families and our church.

We encourage you to invite as many friends and family as you want to!

When: Sunday, May 13, during our worship gathering (Starts at 10:15am)
Where: During our worship gathering, at the YMCA (100 YMCA Drive in Waxahachie)

If you and your child have not previously been part of this commitment time and would like to be, please email Julia Esquivel.
