Jesus is Alive!

Celebrate Easter with us on April 20th at 10:30am!

Easter is one of the most exciting and life-giving reminders of the year. We celebrate one of the central truths that our faith and our hope hang on: that Jesus, the Son of God, rose from the dead! This is a great day to invite friends and family to worship with you and to hear the life-changing story of the gospel.

Good Friday Dinner & Prayer, April 18th at 6pm

At 6pm on Good Friday, we will get together at our campus (101 Sunnyside in Waxahachie) for a special time to eat together and then together reflect on the death of Jesus to pay for our sins. Bring your own dinner if you want, and we will eat for about 30 minutes. Then we will take about 30 minutes to focus our hearts through Scripture, prayer, and singing. We plan for the whole night to last around 1 hour.

Our kids are invited to sing and pray with us, and the nursery and tumble room will be open for any parents who want to play with their younger kids there. Childcare will not be provided as this is a family event.

Walk through the week together…

Before we can fully appreciate and celebrate the massive realities that Jesus’ resurrection brings, we have to first embrace the sobering realities of why he had to die in the first place. And that is what Holy Week and Good Friday are about. We slow our lives, our hearts, and our minds to contemplate the weightiness and the consequences of sin and the requirement of a sacrifice by a just and righteous God.

Interact With People Around You

We would encourage you to plan some ways to interact with the people around you and to lovingly point them to Jesus.

Here are a few outward-focused ideas:

  • Pray specifically for your Top 5 every day between now and Easter.
  • Prayerwalk your neighborhood. Mention Easter and ask people you meet for specific requests. (Read our post on prayer-walking for ideas.)
  • Write an encouraging and gospel-filled message for your neighbors in sidewalk chalk.
  • Take a gift basket with simple, individually wrapped goodies.
  • Share our Easter resources on social media.
  • Share things from the Jesus page on our website.
  • Personally invite friends and neighbors to join you for our Good Friday and Easter gatherings.
