“What do you have for my teenagers?”

What we want for teenagers is the same as what we want for adults. We want them to learn to love and follow Jesus, live in community with God’s people, and make disciples. We believe that will be best accomplished by strategically including them in the regular rhythms of the church.

We also realize that teenagers are in some ways a people group unto themselves, and we want to plan some things specifically with them in mind.

What we want for teenagers is the same as what we want for adults. We want them to learn to love and follow Jesus, live in community with God’s people, and make disciples.

Vision & Goals

Our vision for Remedy Teens is shaped by our call as a church to make disciples. We want to see teenagers come to know and love Jesus Christ, grow in spiritual maturity, and in turn make disciples.

Biblically, we’d say parents have the primary responsibility of spiritually leading and discipling their children (Deut. 4.9 & 6.7; Eph. 6.4), and the local church comes alongside to equip, encourage, and help.

Our primary goals for Remedy Teens are to:

  • Engage, encourage, and disciple teenagers
  • Equip, encourage, and disciple parents as they lead their teens

When Do We Meet & What Do We Do?

Remedy Teens (6th-12th grade) and families meet at our campus every other Sunday evening from 5-7pm to eat together, hang out and catch up, pray, and pursue gospel-centered spiritual growth.

DINNER: We start off with dinner together as a whole group, and the whole family is invited.

TEENS: Then parents break off separately while our teens do something fun together, have a teaching time, and then break into high school and junior high guys and girls groups.

PARENTS HUDDLE: In the parents huddle we discuss the same content that our teens are working through so that we can best fulfill our role as lead disciple-makers of our teens. We also take time to share ongoing wins, struggles, and encouragement as it relates to parenting teenagers. We always take time to pray with, and for, each other, as well.

** If a family has younger siblings, one parent will stay with the younger kids while the other goes to the parent huddle. Parents staying with younger kids typically go to some our kids classes to either play games (we have foosball and air hockey tables along with board games), watch a video on our Right Now media account, or play GaGa ball outside (when the weather is nice).

Leadership

Bryan Wooten is the lead for Remedy Teens. God has also provided a great team of families and individuals to come alongside our teenagers as they grow in Christ, have fun, serve, and engage their friends together.

Email Bryan to find out when and where our next Remedy Teens gathering will be, how you can get connected, or to ask any questions.

We would love to have you join us for our next Remedy Teens gathering!
